Learning foreign languages is often made more difficult than it should be. Putongwhat wanted to make learning Mandarin Chinese accessible, useful and original. Empathetic Research – understanding what people really want to learn, and discovering what the pain-points are in available language training courses, helped Putongwhat to understand how to shape this innovative Mandarin language course. Design – esemplasis created language products (course books, study materials, teachers manuals, etc) employing the Putongwhat methodology which are appealing and engaging to use. Students of the course comment positively about their learning experience, and note that learning Chinese in this way is significantly less painful than conventional approaches.
